                            OUR STORY

My name is Małgorzata Otto-Doppenberg and together with my husband and son we live in a small village on the outskirts of Szczecin just next to the German border.

We currently have six dogs. Three Springers, two retired Irish Setters aged 14 and 12, and a Dachshund. All of our dogs live with us at home and are members of our family and friends that we love to spend time with.

Our home is surrounded by beautiful walking areas that we use every day when walking our dogs.

I have always been surrounded by animals, but my first pedigree dog came in 2008 and it was an Irish Setter from a Dutch kennel Of the Frision Field. Setters have always fascinated me and so in 2008 I fulfilled my dream. Nicky was a challenging dog with a huge hunting instinct that taught us everything about the handling of a Setter.

We lived in the Netherlands from 2006 to 2009. After returning to Poland, we decided to buy our second Setter and so in 2009 Owen came to us from Polish kennel Z Orszaku Chrobrego.

Both boys were shown sporadically, and they were my first steps in dog shows. They both finished Polish championships.

Unfortunately, their health issues never allowed us to spread our wings in the world of cynology.

This is how my adventure with grooming began, which continues to this day.

I self-studied and prepared my Setters for dog shows. Then there were several grooming competitions with trophies. Additional training and seminars, and it has remained that way to this day. Although I hold a degree in Economics and Management, I run a small grooming salon and this is what I do professionally.

In the meantime, I was also a volunteer at the Szczecin Animal Care Society. During this time, we have had a few dogs come through our home in need of help. One of them was our Dachshund Tina, who stayed with us (upon reflection, we believe that she used one of here supernatural powers to manipulate us).

In 2011, our son Antoni was born and much of our lives have been focused on him and his upbringing. Now he is our four-legged friends' best friend.

In 2015, we were able to move to a house in the country side. Which was a huge dream of ours.

In 2016, I decided to fulfill another dream of owning an English Springer Spaniel. For more than a year I followed breeders in Poland and Europe.

I made closer contact with a long-time breeder Big Brazzel from Sweden. And so in 2018 we were joined by our first Springer: James.

And since Springers are like chips – you can't have just one – in 2019 our second boy William joined us. In 2020, our first long-awaited girl Polly came to us.

All of our Springers come from the Swedish kennel Big Brazzel. From people full of warmth, love and passion for the breed. I am extremely grateful to them for their trust and friendship.

Thoughts of establishing a kennel were in the back of my mind and in 2020 I registered my kennel Dandy Land, thus fulfilling my next dream.

Why dandy? Because a dandy is a fashionable, elegant man and that's how Springers are in my opinion - elegant, strong workers.
